The designer will ‘handover’ your project to the production department. At the handover the designer explains the intricacies and challenges of the pieces as he sees it. The maker, who will have had sight of the plans before, then assesses and plans how the pieces will be made. Larger projects usually require a team of makers. Each of the makers has a different and individual way of setting about the making of a piece of furniture. On larger projects a senior maker will head a team.
