Veneering
There are many different kinds of veneers. They can, for example, be ‘book matched’ or ‘mirrored’ where the same grain of the wood is continued from one panel to the next. Laser techniques can be used for intricate marquetry to create decorative patterns, pictures and stunning effects. Veneers vary from log to log of the same tree type. For this reason, matching and planning is just as important as laying and gluing. To help clients with their selections, Halstock can produce samples of veneers and finishes, including various different gloss lacquers, inlays and an array of painted, polished, embossed and burnished surfaces.
